Large-Scale Scrap Metal Shredding and Crushing System Boosts Processing Efficiency

In July 2026, a scrap metal recycling project in the UK launched an upgrade to its processing system to meet the growing demand for handling large-scale scrap metal.

The resulting output material is more uniform in size, making it easier to coordinate subsequent conveying, sorting, and processing stages. For a recycling plant handling various types of scrap metal daily, this helps establish a more predictable workflow.

Energy consumption was a key consideration during the equipment selection and commissioning phases. Rather than simply pursuing higher processing capacity, the project team focused on the operational dynamics of each stage, striving to ensure the system ran efficiently.
