Recently, Indian clients Karen and Menesh, representatives of a leading photovoltaic (PV) panel recycling enterprise in India, visited China to inspect advanced photovoltaic panel recycling equipment. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate a 1000 kg/hour waste photovoltaic panel recycling system and assess its technical performance, environmental compliance, and industrial applicability.
Karen has extensive experience in photovoltaic module manufacturing, having previously served as a production manager at a large PV panel manufacturer. Menesh is a senior technical engineer specializing in waste photovoltaic panel recycling. With India generating more than 2 million tons of retired photovoltaic modules each year, efficient and environmentally friendly recycling solutions have become increasingly important for the industry.
During the inspection, the clients tested the system using single-layer glass photovoltaic panels, including retired modules and substandard products from manufacturers. Material analysis showed high recycling potential, with glass purity exceeding 99%, along with recoverable silicon, aluminum, and silver. Special attention was given to the adaptability of the equipment to highly aged EVA films, which are common in Indian climatic conditions.
The recycling line integrates intelligent aluminum frame removal, non-destructive glass separation, and multi-stage crushing and sorting technology, achieving high recovery rates while ensuring clean production. The system operates without wastewater discharge and effectively controls dust and exhaust emissions, meeting strict environmental standards.
According to client feedback, the equipment demonstrated superior performance compared with similar machines currently available in the Indian market, particularly in processing efficiency, separation accuracy, and environmental protection.
Following the inspection, both parties reached a preliminary cooperation intention. In Q1 2026, the client plans to install one 1000 kg/hour production line at its Moradabad facility for demonstration operation. Subject to successful results, additional equipment will be deployed in multiple regions across India in the next phase.
